Outside the Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development, grants and administrative support for community-based teaching and research are provided by the Institute for Civic and Community Engagement (ICCE). “Through innovative courses, experiential learning, political engagement, participatory action research and direct services,” ICCE bridges the resources and expertise of SF State with its surrounding diverse communities.
ICCE provides a multitude of resources for faculty/staff for teaching service-learning and academic internship courses. Additionally, ICCE provides faculty/staff with ample opportunities for engaged scholarship, community-based research and funding through fellowship programs. Resources and opportunities provided by ICCE for faculty/staff are meant to aid them in service, community engagement and teaching.
