The Office of Faculty Affairs & Professional Development in the Division of Academic Affairs is the centralized resource center for all faculty-related programs and support services at San Francisco State University. We provide active administrative support to cultivate faculty resiliency and resources. By providing community-building professional development opportunities, we support an inclusive and welcoming faculty culture and a consciously intersectional and anti-racist faculty community, with the goal of mirroring faculty diversity to student diversity.
Within the Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development is SF State's Center for Equity and Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CEETL). CEETL offers faculty development programming that addresses foundational and specialized teaching and learning theory and practices, with a focus on anti-racism, social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in teaching and learning.
CEETL is the heart of the University's commitment to a culture that values and rewards teaching, supports diversity among learners, and promotes learning environments that foster social justice and the respectful and vigorous exchange of ideas in which students and faculty thrive and succeed.
Promoting faculty success through retention, tenure and promotion (RTP) processes, post-tenure review, administration of funding opportunities and awards programs, as well as the provision of professional development opportunities.
