Professional development for Associate Professors

Faculty Affairs and CEETL, with the support and guidance of the University Chairs Council and the Academic Senate’s Professional Development Council, are excited to offer these upcoming professional development opportunities for Associate Professors.

Plan your academic career path

Are you looking for some structure and peer accountability to support your professional development? Create your Individual Development Plan (IDP), a tool to set goals, identify areas for improvement, and track progress. Join one of these workshops to create your own IDP and chart your career path to full Professor and beyond.  Stipends of $250 will go to participants completing their IDPs, until funds are exhausted. Register for one of these workshops at least a week in advance

IDP workshop for newish Associate Professors (<6 years in rank)

  • March 5, Wednesday, 10am – 1pm, LIB 121, OR
  • March 13, Thursday, 10am – 1pm, LIB 286

IDP workshop for seasoned Associate Professors (6+ years in rank)

  • March 17, Monday, 10am – 1pm, LIB 286, OR
  • March 20, Thursday, 12 – 3pm, LIB 121

Lunch will be provided on the above dates.

Associate Professors may register solo or as a group. Registering with peers is encouraged to facilitate peer accountability. If the above dates don’t work for you, groups of four or more Associate Professors can schedule their own workshop by contacting interim Associate Dean Shelden Gen at sgen@sfsu.edu.
